New to LPG?

With pressure mounting on the UK Government, and the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) keeping a close eye, consumers and installers alike are increasingly looking towards off-grid energy solutions. And with over two million rural homes in the UK with no prospect of being connected to the mains gas grid, alternatives such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are becoming ever more popular. So how does LPG stack up in comparison to other energy solutions? Why should you, whether consumer or installer, look towards LPG?

  • LPG is automatically generated during the production of methane duing the refining process
  • LPG is the lowest carbon conventional fuel available to off-grid Britain, emitting 35% less CO2 than coal
  • LPG produces 90% less carbon monoxide and 50% less smog than mains natural gas
  • It readily evaporates posing no environmental risk in the event of a spillage
  • LPG tanks can be left on site for 30 years, whereas oil tanks need replacing every 10-15
  • Tanks can be buried below ground to improve the aesthetics of a building
  • Telemetry systems can alert the supplier when fuel is low, making deliveries manageable and efficient
