CO Awareness Week 23rd November – Stay Safe!

Monday 23rd November 2020

Liquid Gas UK supports CO Awareness week.

Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week is an important campaign to help spread the word of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Every year in the UK around 200 people are hospitalised and 50 people die from carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon Monoxide can leak into our homes when an appliance such as a boiler, gas hob, or wood burning stove has been incorrectly fitted, badly repaired or poorly maintained.  Carbon monoxide can also occur if chimneys, flues, or vents are blocked.

But these dangers can be averted by getting LPG and gas appliances checked every year to stay carbon monoxide safe using a Gas Safe Registered engineer who will carry out an annual check.

Liquid Gas UK support such a vital campaign and endorse the safe use of all LPG products in the home with the key message of -

  1. Service and maintain your appliances
  2. Maintain chimneys and flues
  3. Install a carbon monoxide alarm
  4. Be aware if you feel sick, dizzy, shortness of breath or headache

Make sure you and your family are safe. Keep yourself and your family safe - with a carbon monoxide alarm.
