Liquid Gas UK awarded Liquid Gas Europe’s National Advocacy Award

Liquid Gas UK are delighted to announce that they have been awarded Liquid Gas Europe’s prestigious National Association Advocacy Award 2020 for its 2040 Vision, following a tough competition with other worthy advocacy campaigns from across Europe.

Scrutinised by a committee of leading industry experts from a variety of European countries, the 2040 Vision and supporting campaign achieved the highest score, reflecting the hard work and creativity put in by the Liquid Gas UK team and membership.

Following the announcement, Chief Executive George Webb and Director of Public Affairs Sophia Haywood presented to the European Congress, made up over 100 leading European LPG voices, on how the 2040 Vision came about, the opportunities and challenges, and how the association approaches influencing public policy across the four UK nations.

Sophia Haywood, Director of Public Affairs commented on the announcement:

"The 2040 Vision is as relevant today, as it was when we launched it and it continues to be an important engagement tool raising the profile of LPG and bioLPG. The vision demonstrates that we’re a credible part of the Net Zero energy mix, as industry looks to transition to bioLPG in the run up to 2040. It’s fantastic to be recognised by Liquid Gas Europe for the 2040 Vision, but we now need policy makers to do the same and accept that electrification is not a silver bullet for off-grid rural homes.”
