It’s been another busy year for the association as we’ve navigated through the pandemic, the aftermath of Brexit, and implications for the industry, developed campaigns to raise awareness and understanding of bioLPG, and how it can enable rural homes and businesses to transition to Net Zero.
We’ve worked closely with policy makers, industry and the HSE. We’ve developed relationships with other key industry associations to strengthen our knowledge and understanding, and enable us to provide reciprocal cross sector messaging.
We’ve produced and updated our Codes of Practice, introduced sector specific bundle deals and launched our Gold Licence to enable members to share more widely the codes and other important messaging across business and stakeholder groups.
Our team has grown to include a Cylinder Specialist to support with industry safety and compliance, and in the New Year we will be welcoming a Public Affairs Manager to the team who will be working with Sophia Haywood to support with lobbying activity, consultations and other important Government associated projects.
Last month we held our Annual Conference which many of you attended and was a huge success, as well as our Young Person in LPG Awards to promote emerging talent, and encourage diversity and new entrants to the industry. We are now busy planning the next conference which will take place in Edinburgh in November.
We know the transition to Net Zero and the benefits that LPG brings will continue to be a key priority in all of the work we do whether that’s at Government level, within our PR and communications work, our extensive research and data analysis programme, or as we update our 2040 Vision next year.
The opportunities for growth and development are very much there and open to all of us. We will continue to champion the message about the transitional nature of LPG, as well as the pathway to bioLPG. We must continue to promote its low carbon credentials and ultimately how simple the move to bioLPG can be for existing LPG customers, as well as those using oil today.
2022 will be a year of opportunity for the industry, and now more so than ever, there has never been a more important time to be part of Liquid Gas UK.
Now as we head towards Christmas, I’d like to take this opportunity on behalf of the team here at Liquid Gas UK to wish you all the best for the festive season and we look forward to working with you and supporting you in the New Year.
