Tuesday 19th October 2021

“Liquid Gas UK supports UK Government’s commitment to using a mix of low-carbon solutions, where they are confident in the supply of a clean, green fuel."

“Liquid Gas UK supports UK Government’s commitment to using a mix of low-carbon solutions, where they are confident in the supply of a clean, green fuel. The LPG industry’s transition to bioLPG, provides a clear, seamless pathway to Net Zero for existing LPG users and a cost-effective solution for those using high carbon fuels, heating oil or coal today.

“There is no one size fits all solution when it comes to decarbonising heat, especially so in rural homes off the gas grid. Rural households agree, in a poll earlier this year 87% want Government to allow a mix of technologies to decarbonise their homes.

“The devil will be in the detail, specifically in the upcoming off-grid regulations out for consultation. 88% of rural households felt UK Government need to take more account of rural people’s views, the next steps on decarbonising heat will tell us whether Government are really listening.”
