Today Liquid Gas UK issue updated safety guidance for those using LPG Cylinders. This new Code replaces the Code of Practice 24 Part 1, 5 & 6 series and now combines guidance for the residential, commercial and industrial markets.
The user will find all the guidance in one Code which is expanded to provide guidance for private ownership and filling of ‘freestanding’ LPG cylinders and guidance for Operators of Public LPG refuelling facilities on the filling of ‘freestanding’ LPG cylinders.
This includes guidance covering three sections -
The Code covers storage, design and installation as well as handling and changing of cylinders, and there is specific reference for the construction industry. LGUK has included more technical guidance on the use of regulators, cylinder off takes rates, appliances and cylinder installations in small huts.
The new comprehensive code has fifteen sections, covering -
Commenting on the new Code of Practice 33, Richard Hakeem, Director of Safety and Technical Policy at Liquid Gas UK, Said:
