Code of Practice gain international appeal

Friday 7th August 2020

An update from Richard Hakeem, Director of Technical & Safety Policy

We were delighted to announce the publication of Code of Practice 22, Design, Installation and Testing of LPG Piping Systems which is a significant code for our industry.

July saw active engagement with stakeholders where I provided updates on other important codes that Liquid Gas UK are revising which would influence ACS assessments, training and LPG work carried out on holiday parks.

International trade meetings were also quite prevalent last month relating to post Brexit issues and I was invited to join the British Standards Institute Trade working group which focused on USA trade policy.

I also had the opportunity to have wider discussions with the DfT on the potential impacts of mandatory certification for products entering the UK.

We are very optimistic that our Codes will gain more recognition as a result of the changes that are taking place as we have seen a rise in international interest in July.
