As you may have seen, the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) released their latest report last week which called on BEIS to support hybrid heat pumps in the ‘Clean Heat Grant’ they are currently consulting on and reminded UK Government that they’re meant to be phasing out oil and LPG boilers this decade.
Hybrids are the perfect ‘meet in the middle’ solution for those adamant for full electrification and also provides significant opportunities for the LPG industry, they combine a heat pump with a gas boiler create highly efficient and intelligent systems, as well as offer significant carbon savings. While a hybrids will ultimately mean that less gas is used per property, the opportunity to reach even more homes with hybrids and snap up some of the oil market outweighs the cons.
Just as the CCC are, we’re calling on BEIS to support LPG hybrid heat pumps in the Clean Heat Grant and will keep members up to date with any developments. In the meantime, we’re hosting a an exclusive virtual workshop with Vaillant on Thursday 30th July, 10am – 11.30am to give members an opportunity to learn more about this growing technology.
