Love is in the air and LPG is on the menu

The off-grid restaurants using LPG for superb cooking results and kitchen efficiency.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, restaurants and smart gastro pubs up and down the country will be getting ready for a busy period with special menus, enticing wine lists and beautiful decor.

Many of the most exclusive restaurants and gastro pubs are situated in beautiful country settings with extensive gardens, beautiful views, and cosy open fires set up to beat the winter chill.

Invariably this means they won’t be connected to the main gas grid and will be reliant on alternative fuels such as oil or LPG. For those wishing to reduce their carbon footprint in readiness for Net Zero; LPG is increasingly the fuel of choice. Not only does it have lower levels of NOx, Sox and particulate matter, it is also favoured by many chefs due to its superior cooking capabilities. In fact, research carried out by the Propane Education and Research Council showed 96% of professional chefs prefer to cook with gas. This is due to a number of reasons including both the speed and responsive nature of gas. It’s easy to heat up quickly which in turn means a higher number of dishes can be cooked while not impacting on wait time for guests.

For the millions, looking for a beautiful place to spend Valentine’s Day this year, it’s safe to say many will be booking a place in a restaurant to enjoy delicious food in a beautiful setting.
