As you may have seen, the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) released their latest report last week which called on BEIS to support hybrid heat pumps in the ‘Clean Heat Grant’ they are currently consulting on and reminded UK Government that they’re meant to be phasing out oil and LPG boilers this decade.

Last month, we launched a new EPC campaign targeting parliamentarians in Westminster and Holyrood, calling on them to get the EPC methodology fixed once and for all. I won’t preach to the converted on why EPC’s need fixing, but many will know this has been a long standing issue.

As the Coronavirus (Covid-19) develops in the UK, here at Liquid Gas UK we want to support the LPG industry in navigating the complex policy landscape the best we can. Advice from UK Government and the Devolved Administrations is being updated on an almost daily basis. We are actively monitoring this evolving situation and will share this guidance with our members, to help prevent the spread of any infection within industry and to ensure operations remain as smooth as possible. We have also been lobbying UK Government to ensure the LPG industry is rightly recognised and supported through this difficult period.

The Queen's Speech in 1, 2, 3!

On Monday, the Queen delivered her speech announcing the Government’s new legislative agenda as part of the State Opening of Parliament. Usually this would have happened months ago, yet with 16 days to go until we leave the EU, we’re not exactly in ordinary times.

It’s safe to say the summer hasn’t been the quiet period in politics that we’d all usually expect. In fact, we’ve been dealing with a new PM, a new Government, a little thing called Brexit and a variety of policy issues across political parties. Who needs a break huh?
