The industry recognise the importance of skills and development in driving the industry forward and reaching new heights of success as we head towards net zero and a cleaner, brighter future.

Young Person in LPG was a new initiative introduced in 2021 that recognises the talented young people aged 30 and under who are working in the industry. It shines a spotlight on their successes and raises awareness of the opportunities for excellent careers in the sector.

The awards, which took place the 11th November at the Liquid Gas UK Annual Conference in York, were a huge success. 

Our Winners for 2021 are - 

     The winner of our Apprentice of the Year Award is… Melissa Chisell, AvantiGas

     The winner of our Rising Star Award is… Jess Speed, Continental

There are two categories:

  • Rising Star of the Year
  • Apprentice of the Year

The criteria are as follows:

Rising Star of the Year - Criteria

  • Currently carrying out in a role in the LPG industry
  • Aged 30 or under on awards day, the 10th November 2022
  • Committed to a career in the LPG Industry
  • Not currently carrying out an apprenticeship
  • Organisation needs to be a member of Liquid Gas UK

Apprentice of the Year - Criteria

  • Currently carrying out in a role in the LPG industry
  • Aged 30 or under on awards day, the 10th November 2022
  • Committed to a career in the LPG Industry
  • Those applying for Apprentice of the Year must be carrying out an apprenticeship at the time of application
  • Organisation needs to be a member of Liquid Gas UK

Nominations can be either a person or a company nominating a candidate, or an individual nominating themselves.

What we are looking for in your application:

  • Energy and enthusiasm
  • Professionalism
  • Contribution to their teams' success and/or
  • Contribution to customers, suppliers or stakeholders

In no more than 400 words, please tell us:

  • Your current role and how you got there
  • What do you feel have been your key achievements in your role?
  • How do you see your future career within the LPG industry?
