NNFCC, A Business Case for an indigenous bioLPG supply chain in the UK (2020)

There is significant opportunity for the development of indigenous production facilities here in the UK which will help reach decarbonisation targets as set out in The Clean Growth Strategy (CGS).

At the moment biopropane is produced as a co-product of the hydrogenated vegetable oil process, where vegetable oils are treated with hydrogen. Opportunities across the UK as a whole include new HVO plants, co-processing at existing refineries and commercialising new processes for biopropane synthesis.
