Rural households & Net Zero

We’ve been looking at rural homes to assess which low carbon solutions will meet customer’s needs.

As the UK begins to transition towards a lower carbon economy, there are a number of different heating technologies for homes that are being discussed.

Homes not connected to the main gas grid typically use more carbon intensive heating methods or solutions such as oil and solid fuels. These properties will need to transition in order to meet Government objectives on Net Zero.

We’ve been working with Ecuity Consulting to assess what options are available for off-grid homes in order to establish which are most suitable from both a cost and practical perspective.

We have looked at a series of ‘typical’ rural homes in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales ranging from terraced properties through to larger, detached period homes. You can find more information via the links below.
