Ecuity, The Role for LPG and bioLPG in large, rural off-grid homes (2020)

LPG will play a key role in reducing carbon emissions in over 227,000 large, rural, off-grid homes in the UK which are currently using oil. Building upon previous research which found that a mixed technology approach will save over £7bn compared to taking a 100% electrification route, this report focuses on the options available for decarbonising larger rural homes which are traditionally much harder to heat.

Using real EPC data the report looks at Conwy Cottage, a home which falls into a category of 227,00 similar properties. A detached single family home built before 1945 with solid walls and little to no fabric efficiency renovations.
