There was a time when caravanning was only attempted by the hardiest of holidaymakers.  But thanks to design improvements it has now been transformed into an almost fashionable way to explore the nation’s green spaces.

More than £1.8bn is currently laid out on caravan holidays across Britain each year and 51 million nights are spent in different forms of caravans each year.

Watching the brash Butlins Redcoats, epitomised by Eighties BBC sitcom Hi-de-Hi!, has given way to a more luxurious experience where you’re just as likely to spend your break reclining in a spa as doing the conga.

And this is definitely the sort of holiday that you will enjoy if you head to one of the UK’s premier holiday parks.

With nine locations to choose from nationwide, these picturesque holiday parks offer friends, couples and families the chance to discover the very best of England.

Ensuring that each and every guest has a memorable stay at these award winning holiday parks, is at the very heart of the group’s ethos.

A recent project to enhance the leisure facilities, specifically one centre’s swimming pool, has proved to be a big hit with holidaymakers. With an established relationship already in place with a local LPG supplier – a fuel already in place to serve the bar and restaurant area – it was decided to upgrade the pool’s heating system.

The leisure group’s Managing Director explained: ‘The boilers servicing the pool area were around 10 years old and in need of modernisation.  We looked at biomass as a source of fuel but this proved difficult due to the space required for storing materials; we looked at oil but the costs were too high.  The projected savings we would make by using LPG certainly helped us to make the correct business decision!’

The supplier duly fitted two 90kw energy servers which have proved to not only be highly efficient but with their built in gas savers, the excess heat generated can be stripped out and – in this case – has been utilised to provide underfloor heating at no extra cost!
