Due to its rural location with no mains gas, coupled with the hike in oil prices in recent years, our inspirational care home owner was faced with looking at an alternative fuel supply. And three years on he has never had any regrets about choosing LPG.
Approximately 1.4million people in the UK have a learning disability; in essence, a learning disability affects the way a person learns and deals with things in all areas of life, such as developing skills, understanding complex information, managing money and interacting with others. Often, people with a learning disability often find it difficult to cope on their own with day-to-day tasks and need support to develop the skills they needs to live independently.
It is humbling when we meet people who dedicate their lives to helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Meet our residential care home owner, a man who has run his Surrey-based home since 1978.
Built in 1890, it is a large detached house set in six acres of landscaped gardens; Grade II listed it has far reaching views of the South Downs. Providing a warm and secure home for 19 adults with an age range from 28 to 80, it offers both a homely and happy environment to live in.
Due to its rural location, there is no mains gas and this, coupled with the hike in oil prices in recent years, meant that our inspirational owner was faced with looking at an alternative fuel supply.
And three years on he has never had any regrets about choosing LPG.
‘We have never had any problem with either our supplier or the fuel supply since changing from oil to LPG. We are set in a rural location but have never once had an issue in the winter. LPG serves us well for all our heating, cooking and hot water needs and with the tanks buried underground, our views are still as beautiful as ever! The top up system has also been of great benefit to us; we don’t need to check levels, worry about running out or contacting our supplier for a refill. This is all automated meaning we can get on with what we do best!
‘I would have no hesitation in recommending LPG to any homeowner or commercial enterprise.’
